If you're a father, a mother or a guardian of a child of any age, then you've been through "it". The question is - how did you handle "it". We all like to think of ourselves as THE cool customer, above and beyond needing online anger management.
Nothing bothers us. Nothing can get under our skin. Then, without warning, nap time is well overdue. Teeth don't want to be brushed. Drinks are spilled on that new Berber rug. "NO!" is shouted loudly at you when chores are asked of them. You're face turns a shade of red and your lungs are filled with oxygen. Then, despite your denials about online anger management "it" happens to you.
YOU SHOUT, YOU GIVE YOUR CHILD A TIME-OUT, YOU PUNISH THEM BY SENDING THEM TO THEIR ROOM! By now the child(ren) are screaming, they're upset, you're upset - the house in chaos. Maybe it's time for online anger management, because you could have whispered. You could have given yourself a time-out. You could have walked away. Anger is an emotion that we have. It could be a healthy emotion when expressed properly. You can't just suppress any anger you have. This will just cause the "volcano" effect. This can be destructive to your health, reputation or even worse, cause physical harm to yourself or others.
Instead, try to find what causes you to be angry, to need to explore online anger management. Try to find certain triggers. Perhaps it could be something that someone says. Or, an action from one person could lead an anger trigger.
Most of the times the trigger is fired, it's our own internal thoughts that adds to our anger. We make it out to be bigger than it actually is. This in turn, is the "adding fuel to the fire" which prompts us to react the way we do, which makes online anger management seem like a viable option.
The next time you think you're getting angry about something, I challenge you to whisper out your frustration. Not only will it calm you down - but it might make you and the person next to actually laugh - which should release some tension. Or, go to another room and only go back after you have calmed down. Or - Give yourself a time-out. Sign up for online anger management. Go on - I challenge you.
